  • Meet Ahastery Lorenzo

While being an entrepreneur can be extremely difficult. It also has its benefits. We go through emotions from choosing products, producing clients, balancing daily activities, etc. Being an entrepreneur gives you independence, flexibility, and an introduction to other creatives. Let us begin by introducing you to Ahastery Lorenzo. What's Your Name? Ahastery Lorenzo Before, jumping into your creative life, how was your personal life growing up? Growing up in the Dominican Republic until the age of 9 3/4, I was able to experience a lot of freedom. Walking to school with my friends, going outside to play games with my friends every day, walking to my grandmother's house, talking everyone's ear off, and just being a social butterfly, with no restrictions whatsoever. Growing up in the US though was a bit different. I couldn't dance in the house because we first lived at my aunt's and she didn't allow secular music to be played, and then we moved into a second-floor apartment and the downstairs neighbors complained about my dancing... I couldn't go outside to play because my brothers no longer had an interest in playing with me, I had no friends and my grandmother was afraid about me playing outside by myself. My life got turned upside down. Right side up and upside down again multiple times, to the point where I became socially inept. Where were you born and raised? I was born in Bani, Dominican Republic, lived there until age 9 3/4, moved to Tucker, GA in 2003, and have lived here since. Tell us something nobody knows about you. I enjoy DIY projects. I like making my own envelopes and boxes as well as finding ways to recycle materials I already own. What do you do when you're not being creative? I watch a lot of Korean Dramas, they've been my guilty-pleasure for about three years now. We know pursuing your passion isn't easy, but overall how has been an entrepreneur help you to transition your life? It's been hard, to be honest. You don't become an entrepreneur overnight, you have to put in the work, even when you feel lazy because if you don't do it, no one else is going to do it for you. What fears did you have to overcome to become the person you are today? The fear of failure. If I'm honest it's still the major thing I deal with even today - on really bad days I really question the steps I've taken and if it's actually been worth it. What or who is your inspirational source? My inspiration comes from God and my desire to fulfill the purpose He has placed inside of me. Did you have anybody in your corner to help get your career started? Yes, I did, I have a couple of people who are cheering me on and are patiently waiting for me to truly launch myself. We'd love to hear more about your business. My business is called About a Girl. It's a name that came to my mind back in 2015... back then it was all about getting me out of my cocoon and becoming a butterfly - it failed. But over the last two years I have been working closely alongside God to make this what He wants it to be and so now About a Girl is a vessel through which people will get to see behind the closed door of the Christian life - things are not perfect, happy-go-lucky and stress-free, there are hardships, everyday worries, but in the midst of all that there's the Peace that only Jesus can bring. I am About a Girl, About a Girl is me and I'm not perfect, but I'm not aiming to be and I hope that whoever sees me and reads the books I'll release also learns to accept themselves as who they are and live a life of purpose. • Meet Domanick Crittenden

As we are starting into a New Year, let's begin by introducing you to Domanick Crittenden. Before, jumping into your creative life, how was your personal life growing up? Life was rough growing up, we stayed in the projects with high violence, crime, and drug peddlers. Not all was bad I met great people that showed me more than just the projects. I learned baseball, basketball, football, anime, kickball, etc. my parents were drug abusers with my dad and older brother being peddlers themselves, we still had everything that we could have possibly wanted. As I got older I was never really the popular one or hung out with them unless it was my brother and his entourage. I played video games and basketball, it was something that intrigued me and made me want to be a gamer that played ball. I met tons of friends through gaming and sports so it became my first and second love with gaming being the first. Where were you born and raised? Louisville, KY Tell us something nobody knows about you. I almost had two kids by different women around the same time twice. We know pursuing your passion isn't easy, but overall how has being an entrepreneur help you to transition your life? It’s been a rigorous road especially with me being a YouTuber and the platform is always changing. All in all, I’ve been more positive, creative, and happy since working on my brand and businesses. I make music for my lows and videos for my highs, I try to balance my emotions through things I’m very passionate about and it’s been a breathtaking experience. I love the grinding process and more importantly, I love to fail. What fears did you have to overcome to become the person you are today? Outside chatter, speculation, opinions, etc. doesn’t matter to me. It’s about you and your happiness and what you can do to stay that way and change those around you into that very same thing. I credit a lot of this to GaryVee he’s gotten me through a lot of touch anxiety especially with YouTube. What or who is your inspirational source? My wife and kids. I want them to see success through my eyes and know that it’s possible for them to achieve it as well and that job is a stepping stone not a way of life. Did you have anybody in your corner to help get your career started? Plenty! There were tons of people in my corner, they have seen my potential and what my visions were. Some gift me treasures that leave me speechless, others leave comments on my pages and channels motivating me to stay with my dreams. We'd love to hear more about your business. One is a gaming channel the other is a vlog channel, I’ve had the gaming channel since June 2020 and I started the second channel around a month ago. Both are doing well, but due to COVID-19, I had to slow down on filming for the vlog channel. I’ve also returned to recording music ( I stopped to work on my YouTube channels) and now I’m incorporating music with my channels. I’ve been making music for about 10 years now, I started taking it seriously around 6-7 years ago that's when I started working on the business aspect of it. • 5 Economic Issues Reshaping The Modest Entrepreneur.

Due to some changes in the economy, most of every entrepreneur had to develop a phase two substantial emergency growth. Learning the ins and outs of the business is one thing. However, reshaping its entire landscape was another for us. Here are five economic tips you must consider when developing a new system : 1.Supply & Demand For example, people are always searching for ways to decrease their consumption. Without incoming cash regularly coming in, owners are searching for ways to massively increase their income using the old & new wave for survival word of mouth and the media. The question of the day is: Will it work? 2. Capital In addition, to supply and demand, working capital shows how efficiently an owner's company is operating and how financially stable the business is. It's the instrument of production. The production will not move if it doesn't have capital. For instance, the factory that a man/woman owns is capital. The profit that he or she gets out of it every year is the income. Due to some economic changes a lot of companies had to lay-off their employees to save their income which in result slowed down their capital. As a result, a lot of entrepreneurs are using Government grants, Angel investing, and collateral from assets to stay up float. 3. Interest Rates Interest rates can affect the growth of entrepreneurs by affecting not only the loan payments but impacting the company's ability to secure funding. Before determining the interest rate when seeking a business loan, make sure your credit score and history are in excellent condition; you don't want those high-interest rate fees! An interest rate is described as a percentage that the Federal Reserve charges for borrowing an amount to get access to capital. The Fed lowers or raises its interest rates to keep employment high, prices steady, and interest rates regulated. Depending on the economy, when the interest rates are low, the banks will be more selective of who to approve for a business loan. That's why it's always good to keep low to no debt but an excellent cash flow. 4. Land With this in mind, now you have land. Land ownership not only removes paying rent but it gives the owners peace of mind. It is a limited resource that doesn't wear out, a tangible asset, and provides food, materials and helps support the filtering of water. Besides, a lot of owners use their land for residential, transportation, agriculture, commercial, and recreational. 5.Self Finally, you have yourself. The least skill you have for capital is yourself. As a business owner and entrepreneur, it is believed that you have an excellent checking and savings account with a great annual interest yield. By investing in yourself and your business helps not only yourself but makes investors believe you are great with accountability. Plus, by saving your own personal dollars savings, you did yourself a favor. Now, you're ready for serious business. Have tips of your own?
