As an Atlantian, this kind of dish tends to be on the healthy-Ish and Autumn season side. It's full of flavor and loaded with veggies, perfect for any crowd-pleaser, kids, or meat-eaters. We often make this chili for movie nights, potlucks, tailgates, or meal prep. Not to mention, you can find all ingredients in almost every grocery store, and full of nutritious.


Healthy Black Bean & Sweet Potato Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup spinach or tomato leaves

  • 2 teaspoon ground pepper

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1 teaspoon adobe

  • 2 tablespoons agave

  • 3 cups uncooked black beans

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1 Kroger Original chili packed

  • 1 medium white onion: finely chopped

  • 1 medium green pepper: chopped

  • 589 grams or 32 ounces of ground turkey

  • 3 ounces of grape tomatoes

  • 2 Medium peeled sweet potato

Directions


It only takes a few steps to make this amazing chili, it's totally beginner friendly.

  1. Before making the chili, soak black beans for 8 hours, or overnight. (Best results)

  2. Place 3 to 4 cups of hot water in a large pot and add sea salt.

  3. Once the water comes to a boil add in drain beans and cook on low/medium for 30 minutes, covered.

  4. Next, grab another large pot or skillet.

  5. Inside the pot, add one tablespoon of olive oil, onion, and bell pepper: sauté for 2 minutes.

  6. Now, add in your ground turkey, ground pepper, onion powder, oregano, and adobe, and cook on low/medium. When meat is cooked thoroughly.

  7. added in your tomatoes, and one cup of hot water, and cover for 10 minutes.

  8. Once, the 10 minutes is done, add meat filling to your beans; sweet potato, and agave, then Kroger chili packed all in one pot.

  9. Cooked on Low/Medium for 30 minutes, and lastly add in your spinach or tomato leaves, then EAT!
