Meet Jay Brick

We hear too many voices when it comes to creativity, and I'm not talking about the opinion of others. No! the voices within our minds. The ideal of imagination, operation, and standard of perfection. It's a desirable feeling. Not everyone has the appetite for risk-taking but for Jay Bricks it's worthwhile.

Let's get to know this creator...

What's Your Name?

Jay Brick

Before, jumping into your creative life, how was your personal life growing up?

Growing up, I was always involved in music and fashion, really. When I was 5 to about 10 years old, I played the drums for my church's children's choir. After that, I started to take piano lessons. When I got to high school that's when I became more involved in the marching band and I made myself a rap song, was hitting on nothing. So, I focused the majority of my energy on my clothing line Chump Change ATL. I didn't start rapping again until I got to college but that was more so fun. In January 2020 is when I started to take music and myself more seriously.

Where were you born and raised?

Born in Decatur, grew up in Ellenwood

Tell us something nobody knows about you.

I'm not a fan of seafood outside of fired fish

What do you do when you're not being creative?

Working, smoking, or playing call of duty

We know pursuing your passion isn't easy, but overall how has been an entrepreneur help you to transition your life?

Being an entrepreneur has really increased my self-awareness and also my overall hustle because the one thing about being an entrepreneur is whether it's good or bad, everything falls on you. It is all about how you adapt and move.

What fears did you have to overcome to become the person you are today?

The fear of failure. Being too scared to fail will stop you from taking the risk to succeed.

What or who is your inspirational source?

Pharrell Williams, Curren$y, Family

Did you have anybody in your corner to help get your career started?

Trap$et, Wurldwide Bread, The Bros

We'd love to hear more about your business.

Aside from rapping, I am also a clothing designer. My two brands are Chump Change ATL and Brick Supply Co. Right now I am in the rebranding and building stages for both brands, but new gear and music will be dropping soon!
