Meet Dawn Patrice

Adopting the right mindset as a creative can be difficult. We go through thoughts of am I good enough, am I putting in enough hours, is my skill good enough, etc. As a result, because of these complicated beliefs, failure isn't fatal! It's the courage we continue to count towards ourselves. You have to keep trying!

Today! We're honored to introduce you to Dawn Patrice. She's an Image Consultant and confident speaker in Atlanta, Ga.

Before, jumping into your creative life, how was your personal life growing up?

My personal life has always been all things creative! I can remember being in the 2nd grade, asking my mom to take me to our local drug store to get a disposable camera. I enjoyed watching BET and imitating the dance moves. Also, in my youth, I sold snacks out of my locker/backpack, and out of my mother’s trunk at church. Lasting, even as a teenager I would make sure I was well put together before leaving the house with my cute outfits. So, I can confidently say I am creative through and through!

Where were you born and raised?

Atlanta and raised in Ellenwood, GA

Tell us something nobody knows about you. I am an open book!

What do you do when you're not being creative?

Lol. I live in my own creative world all the time! I will literally be in my home rearranging and organizing; cultivating a different look or feel. Creativity is my happy place!

We know pursuing your passion isn't easy, but overall how has been an entrepreneur help you to transition your life?

Great question! It’s definitely taught me to be very intentional in every aspect of my life!

What fears did you have to overcome to become the person you are today?

I had to overcome the thought of not wanting to fail and establishing a business with no flaws. I was crazy enough to think, if I just follow the blueprint of a successful business then I would not have any issues. Oh, the mind, of your youth is so naïve! Lol

What or who is your inspirational source?

My inspirational source has been my creator! There was a quote I had on my dresser as a teenager, to help me focus. Well, the intent was there…! Lol. It stated, “Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.”

Did you have anybody in your corner to help get your career started?

Yes and No! Subconsciously, in retrospect yes! I have always had the mentality that I was not created to work for someone for the rest of my life. However, I knew I had to “figure it out”; which that statement came from my mother. She literally would always say “figure it out!” Honestly, that encouraged me to have great problem-solving skills and creating multiple ways in making things work. If it did not initially work, it was okay; because I understood I could/would figure things out in my career and overall life.

We'd love to hear more about your business.

My business is all things image and beyond! As an Image Consultant, I encourage/guide my clients to ignite their inner confidence to reflect the outer persona. The ways I connect with my clients are by, personal styling, closet revamping, and my weekly post of “A Dose of Dawn” to share a positive light on the importance of perspective thinking.
